Who should apply? If you live, work, or go to school in Orleans Parish and are between the ages of 15 to 21, you qualify!
Who is CRA? Our organization helps people uncover their natural ability to respond to destructive behavior in constructive ways. We offer training, consulting and facilitation of dialogue circles which improve communication, build relationships, reduce violence.
What will the Youth Advisory Board do? The Youth Advisory Board will be supported in creating their own community based projects that advocate for peace, community building, and restorative relationships.
Youth Advisory Board Benefits:
- Paid $10 – $15 an hour for all training and participation in programming
- Free meals during training and meetings
- Leadership development including restorative approaches training, political education, public speaking, and media literacy training
- Intergenerational and community engagement with local leaders and orgs
What is the time commitment? The Youth Advisory Board will meet monthly for 2 hours, additional project-based meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis. During onboarding, YAB members are expected to commit to 40 hours of training over the course of 2 months (May + June, 2025).
